The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is equipped with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that offers better mapping and obstacles avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind you'd find in self-driving cars and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping as well as faster response time and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also has an alternating mopping mat made of chenille, which makes it much easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mops. During my testing the X2 Omni took just over one minute to wash its pad before getting to work. I also noticed that it was more precise than other models that were able to follow a grid-like path around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms as well as make "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it cannot switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single run. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum depending on your requirements. This is great for the majority of households, but not so for those who lead busy lives.

However, the Deebot Omni is a fantastic robot vacuum that has impressive results in our tests on pet hair. It removed more than 96% of debris from our hardwood floors. This is a fantastic performance. It did a great job on carpets and tiles cleaning up the majority of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mop has an enormous docking station that provides cool water cleaning for its mop pads, auto-emptying into a 3L bag that's simple to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.

The Deebot T10 comes with a wash tray that is built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to rinse and dry its mop pads while using them. Flip it over, however, and you'll find a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper that carries dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot's'mouth'. It's smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system is fairly sophisticated and allows you to set no-mop zones, as well as specific cleaning zones. It has a habit of hitting objects, including its own charging station, and isn't great at navigating over carpets. It was great at getting pet hair off of the floor. In our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.

Although it can be controlled via the app and the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base that allow you to choose a cleaning mode, and turn the robot on/off. These buttons can be used to create areas that aren't allowed to enter and view real-time maps. It's a bit chatty and will tell you what it plans to do next ("start cleaning") or alert you that something's wrong (it does not have enough power to charge, for instance).

In our test of hardwood floors and kibble it performed well and was able to take everything from a single grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in just one pass. It had some difficulty transitioning to carpets, but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms that have both types of flooring and a mix of pets.

It is a bit pricey but if you're able to manage the price, this is a great option for those who wish to be able to leave their homes completely free to perform other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro also offers a handy auto cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to handle tough spills and dirt and it is equipped with a battery-powered ElectroWall which allows you to define boundaries where the robot isn't permitted to be allowed to enter.

This budget-friendly model from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest model we've tested yet and offers an exceptional value for the price. The basic navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm, and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. However, it's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners, and its mopping mode performed well during our tests and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris easily.

Shark's iQ might not be as well-built however, it's better in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning low-pile carpet and floor surfaces that are bare. It also uses smart-pathing navigational software for greater mobility. It also lets you assign it to a specific area, and its advanced set of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It even lets you stop and restart cleaning sessions which is ideal for households with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll prevents tangles with pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless dock station can store up to 30 days worth of dirt prior to needing to be emptied. It also has an assortment of angled side brushes that penetrate into corners and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander, and allergens for cleaner air.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It works with an app on your smartphone that lets you change the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app also lets you view the remaining battery life of the iQ and send push notifications about any issues it encounters during its cleaning session. You can control it with your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary lines.

The iQ is great at cleaning bare floors, and does a decent job on carpets with low pile and shaggy edges. However, it doesn't offer the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It's also costly and the recurring costs can become expensive over time.
