Another thing I really loved about this book was the way Heyer subtlely pointed out the limitations of women's lives during this time. Leonie is not an advocate of trading in her breeches and riding side-saddle for layers of skirts, petticoats, and dresses. She also isn't willing to ride on the side saddle and shoots the villains (despite it being a dangerous job).
